Vent Screen with Cement Cap
Features/Benefits
- Used when the top of the vent screen assembly is located in casing below the production tubing.
- Allows high slurry displacement rates for high-rate water packs and frac-andpack operations.
- Easily accommodates multiple future plug-backs without using a rig.
- Can be deployed on wireline, coiled tubing, or jointed pipe.
- Can be deployed in live wells using TTS’s multiple-barrier deployment techniques.
- Sand height control valve (SCHV) prevents flow into the vent screen during gravel placement to optimize column height on blank pipe during high-rate water packs. It also provides positive sandout indication when it shears.
- Cement cap placed on top of gravel column fluidization, the top cause of gravel pack failure.
- Streamlined vent screen assembly allows clearance for coiled tubing and cement bailers.
- This system has performed successfully hundreds of times, in tubing sizes from 2 3/8-in to 5 1/2-in.
- Available for tubing sizes from 2-3/8" and up. Readily available for all popular production tubing sizes.
- Does not require packers or attachments to production tubing with blank pipe.
- Eliminates excessive pressure draw down due to long sections of blank pipe needed in some applications where distances are excessive between the end of the production tubing and the proposed completion interval.
- Does not interfere with future plug back completions. No required fishing of any hardware.
- Can be deployed on coil tubing and gravel packed in one trip. Expendable Sand Height Control Valve diverts slurry from entering and dehydrating across vent screen while pumping slurry. Once sand out is achieved and additional sand out pressure is applied, the ball seal will be sheared and blown down to the bottom of the screen assembly.
